Meet Xuan

IAABC-ADT | AVS-ACDT | FDM | FPPE

Hi, I'm Xuan—a lifelong dog lover who thought I knew dogs... until I adopted Chewie, a dog with a bite history. That experience was a wake-up call. I realised just how little I truly understood about canine behaviour, and how much misinformation is out there—especially outdated, punishment-based "alpha" theories that can harm the human-dog relationship. â€‹Thankfully, I met a mentor who introduced me to modern, science-based reinforcement training. It not only transformed my relationship with Chewie, but also helped me understand how dogs actually learn—and how to teach them effectively and compassionately.

Managing a reactive dog is stressful. I've lived it. That's why I'm passionate about helping others navigate their own journeys—whether they're struggling with behaviour challenges or simply want to build a better relationship with their dogs. Now, as a mom of two kids and a dog with a bite history, I have special interest in supporting families—especially those navigating the unique dynamics between dogs and children. The cherry on top? Everything I've learnt through dog training—grounded in learning theory and behavioural science—applies just as much to parenting.

Meet Kai

Co-Handler | The Solid Rock of the Family | The Man behind the Woman

Hi, I'm Kai—Xuan's partner in life, dog training, and everything in between. I've been on this journey with her from the very start. Over time, I've realised that many of the things we see in everyday dog ownership—like keeping dogs on a tight leash, not allowing them to sniff, or letting them pull to meet other dogs on a tight leash (a recipe for dog-dog reactivity)—have become the norm not because they're right, but because they're common.

I believe in being an educated pawrent—doing right by our dog, not just doing what everyone else does. I've always supported Xuan in pursuing her passion for dog training, even more so after we became parents. These days, I'm often the one solo-parenting the kids while she's out training, or debriefing cases with her over dinner. I'm the steady hand in the background—the one who stays grounded when things get tough, and helps strategise training plans and problem-solve together.

That said... I'm also the one who still can't resist disturbing our dog when I know I shouldn't. :)
