Children under 5 are the most frequent victims of serious dog bites, and in many cases, the dog is the family's own pet—not a stranger. Young children are naturally more vulnerable: their faces are closer to a dog's level, their movements are unpredictable, and their impulse control is still underdeveloped. Tragically, such incidents often lead to dogs being surrendered or euthanised—even though most are entirely preventable with early education and preparation.
