DOG-CHILD SAFETY & DYNAMICS

Common topics: Canine body language, success stations, supervision, dog sensitivities, baby milestone development

Bringing a new baby home is a big change—not just for you, but for your dog too. It's a steep learning curve and can be highly demanding, both physically and emotionally. That's why it helps to prepare everyone—dogs included—before life gets busy.

Children under 5 are the most frequent victims of serious dog bites, and in many cases, the dog is the family's own pet—not a stranger. Young children are naturally more vulnerable: their faces are closer to a dog's level, their movements are unpredictable, and their impulse control is still underdeveloped. Tragically, such incidents often lead to dogs being surrendered or euthanised—even though most are entirely preventable with early education and preparation. Our goal is to set families and their dogs up for success, from the very beginning.
